Trimble S8 Theft - Oakland

Post by rooch707 »

Hey all,

Please be on the look out... Yesterday (2/27/18) at approx 9:45am our Trimble S8 0.5" DR HP (SN 98810079) was stolen during a survey at 108th & MacArthur in Oakland. They grabbed the legs, put it in their truck and drove off. Needless to say that the servos are most likely trashed. In the pic you can see its a white Ford Ranger extended cab with the legs sticking out. I'm sure the gun is gone forever, however just in case please let me know or Oakland PD.

Thanks

I infer from the "grabbed the legs" statement that the setup wasn't locked to a stationary object. While there are certainly some locations at which locking an unattended setup isn't necessary, 108th and MacArthur in Oakland doesn't strike me as one of those.

Please tell me this was not a one-man crew and that one of the two people on the crew was next to the gun.

Although...
