Project Surveyor - ROW/Engineering Services

Location: Riverside, Long Beach or Bakersfield

Overland, Pacific & Cutler, LLC has an immediate opening for a Project Surveyor to provide in-house professional land surveying expertise to our project teams. The Project Surveyor will manage right of way engineering and land surveying services for highly-visible real property and transportation projects in Southern California. Professionals with experience in Land Development, Flood Control, Civil Engineering or Right of Way are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, experienced, and California professionally licensed land surveyor or engineering professional seeking a visible position working in conjunction with top-level engineering firms on major projects. Must be able to travel to project sites and meetings as required throughout Southern California.

Primary Responsibilities:

ROW engineering and survey design lead for transportation and real property projects; Able to solve time and cost sensitive problems; Enhances protocol and procedures for mapping, survey calculations and field practices; Interpret the impact of engineering plans for proposed improvements and right of way needs; Review of deeds, legal descriptions and plat maps for Right of Way acquisition interests; Identify errors/inconsistencies with project design; Coordinate resolution of title encumbrance and ownership issues; Coordinate with staff in all service areas.

Expectations:

Familiarity with current GPS, Total Station and Laser Scanning systems.
Preparation of survey calculations and adjustments using standard boundary retracement principles and practices.
Retracement of property and right of way boundaries from internal and sub-consultant managed field surveys
Preparation of legal descriptions, plat maps, records of surveys, parcel and tract maps, lot line adjustments
Mapping deliverables for local agency and Caltrans projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation and Microsoft Excel Software
Preparation of as-needed maps and exhibits using AutoCAD C3D / ArcGIS / Microstation V8 software platforms.
Minimum 5 years’ experience practicing land surveying or engineering professional in California.
Preferred Designations/Licenses

PLS -- Professional Land Surveying License, California
PE – Professional Engineer, California
