Help With The History and Legislative Intent Behind Section 8762

I hit my local law library today in an effort to learn more about the history and legislative intent of Section 8762 of the California Business and Professions Code. I learned a couple of things from the law librarian today, but I didn't find as much as I had hoped. I did get copies of the record-of-survey requirements from as far back as 1907, which should help me track some of the changes that have been made to the law.

However, I found almost nothing on the intent of the people that proposed and supported the legislation. I also looked for articles on this subject online and on the CLSA members web site, but I didn't find much.

I'm hoping to tap into the historical knowledge of this group. Did any of you know the members of our profession that proposed the original legislation (while they were alive)? Can any of you explain to me the purpose between the revisions to Section 8762 that appear to have occured in 1907, 1933, 1935, 1939, 1994, 1996, 2000, 2002, 2003 or 2012?

I'm going to post all of my research online before the webinar at the end of the month. I'd love to get some of the first hand or second hand knowledge this community has about the changes to this law in print before it is gone forever.

If I've missed an obvious article or other reference that has everything I'm looking for, please point it out.
