30 new licensees, and they do this twice a year now, right? So 60 per year? I thought that number used to be more like 150 per year. Has productivity really increased that much?

I fear our numbers are falling too fast, and nature abhors a vacuum
so we need to mentor more and sell our profession to the younger
generation cause surveying is a great job.

Jim, There are typically fewer licensed in the fall session. CA PLS Exam stats are not up on the web yet for the October exam, but consider a ballpark of 120. In April, approximately 200 sat and 44 passed. Not sure exactly how many became licensed. Some may have had to still pass the NCEES PS, turn in their take home exam, or get fingerprinted and background checked. CA PLS exam numbers were over 500 in 2007.

Mr. Smith, Stats from BPELSG indicate a net -10 in licensees during 2015-2016. Another alarming number is the reduction in number of FS candidates nationwide since 2007.

Mr. Smith, I hope all the new licensees read your post about learning. Absolutely true!
