Flood zones

Hello.

If you have a property that appears to be in two different zones per the FIRM, do you need to list both on the El. Cert? One part of the prop. is in an AE zone and the other is X.

Just looked at the FEMA instructions and it does say to list flood zone(s) where the building is located. So I answered my own question.

Be careful Mike. Your answer is not how FEMA or insurance companies interpret your answer. If the slightest corner of the property is included in a special hazard flood zone, then the entire property is considered in and insurance is mandatory.

Luckily if the building sits outside of the FEMA established 100-yr zone, there are ways to get the structure removed from the required flood insurance.

My advise is to attend a FEMA training class, you will learn a lot.

Got a call for Flood Cert. Gave estimate. Guy fell off his chair.

"FEMA said it should be about $ 300". LMAO

I think the thing to always keep in mind, is that the situation was created by others ie "they built a house in flood plain" "they didnt research ahead of time"
"now THEY want a surveyor to bail them out of the water" pardon the pun.

We can only report the facts . . . however, FEMA has made a lot of errors in their haste to implement the new flood boundaries.

Indeed this is where the facts come into play. (alll for a grand price of $300) be well my friends
