Trig Star presentations

I just did my first five Trig*Star presentations today at Kaiser High School in Fontana, CA. Thanks go to Bill Hofferber and Carlos Urena, who were my co-presenters (Bill for the first one and Carlos for the first four). The there were two Trig classes and three Calculus classes that we presented to today. They were receptive and excited at the chance to compete in the exam contest our Chapter is coordinating for March 16th and possibly try to win some cash prizes.

We had one female student that asked a great question about the number of women in surveying and I said that my wife was a surveyor and that females are definitely under-represented in surveying in general, but the numbers are growing greater and greater and that I really don't notice it cause I'm outnumbered 2 to 1 by women in my small office of 3, one of them being my boss.

If your chapter has a Trig*Star program, consider getting involved and "spreading the word" about surveying to our youth.
