Google earth crashes

Post by goodgps »

Does anyone else have "crashing" problems with google earth ?

I get at least 3 - 4 "google earth has encountered . . . . " messages before it will allow me to look at a property.

and THEN. . . . if I do a street view, the darn thing will crash a couple of more times.

I have tried two browsers IE7 (for xp pro) and Chrome no difference . . .

Just wondering if there are some settings that I need to adjust.

Thanks and Happy Holidays (*_*)

Are you running GE as a standalone application, or in a browser tab?

I had some GE crashes under XP, but it's been remarkably stable under Win7.

GE crashes occasionally for me too. I suspect the problem I had was that GE was looking for some of my “saved places” in various server directories that got moved or deleted. This is just an anecdotal observation. Using CAD for so many years makes me think of an orphaned xref analogy.

I run it in XP and lately it's been very stable.

It used to crash on me if I was in street view and typed in a different location it didn't like that unless I went back to aerial view first.

Google Earth

I am running GE under windows XP office.

I have updated the bios, run updates from microsoft but still get consistent crashes. It happens on all my office computers.

I am hesitant to purchase google pro, in the event that the crashes will continue and I've simply wasted money.

still dazed and confused, but plugging along.

ALSO . the Google earth people have never gotten back with me on my "help" inquiries . . .

Oh well . . .

Thanks and Happy New Year !!!
