Robert...that was sort of my point. I'm darned glad I bought Topcon. They treated me like a king when I bought my systems. Oh...they still do with service, software and firmware updates and all.
The unfortunate thing is that this is NOT the company that Charley Trimble worked to build.

Who did you purchase this system from?
This is a bit surprising to me - and it's not Trimble directly, it's your local dealer who will typically be responsible for training you upon delivery. Typically, when we (California Surveying & Drafting Supply) sell ANY type of Trimble, Nikon, TDS, etc. product, we spend at least a day with each customer - dedicated to training/familiarization with the new instruments.
Being a Trimble Certified Instructor, I also offer customizable, on-site training for 1-12 students... but like I said, in every situation it all really depends on who your dealer/local support happens to be. Just as an example, when Topcon sold numerous receivers to a local college here in Northern California, it took well over a year for the educators to receive any type of support - and CSDS provided them with Trimble receivers, training & support for the time that they were dead in the water with an arsenal of Topcon Hyper systems... so it all comes down to the dealer level. If you're ever in need of support or would like to discuss some on-site training, please feel free to contact me directly at: (916) 806-2860 or tomc@csdsinc.com
Good luck, and again - please let me know if there's any way that I or CSDS can help you out.

Phone Number...
Wow! Thanks Scott... now I will never doubt you when you insist that your keyed-in coordinates are correct! ;) Good eye, and I thank you for the heads-up. Correction made!

I agree Dave.
As with professional services, the products are nearly the same, it is the service that counts. Allen Instruments ( alleninstruments.com ) has always treated me like a king, both in San Diego and again here in Az.
There are lots of great Trimble classes... it is worth seeking them out.
