I'm doing research on maps recorded near the property I intent to survey. I know if I have Book & Page i can download the maps from
https://records.pw.contra-costa.org/Web ... dMaps&cr=1
But, there is a GIS site:
https://www.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewe ... 1bd0446d18
What I don't know is how to view and download maps from the GIS site, any help, please.

Have you considered contacting the County Surveyors Office?
Dana and her staff are very helpful, and can get you steered in the right direction.

I have seen the maps reference on the Assessor's map, but the map was not updated since 2001!LS_8750 wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 7:59 am Look at the annotated assessor parcel books on the first link you posted........

That's why the Marin Chapter has a retired surveyor maintaining a copyrighted excel spreadsheet for those that subscribe to our yearly service, ($250 per year https://marinclsa.com/ ). Some Marin AP maps have omitted recorded maps - don't rely on the Assessor's Parcel Map. The data-base also include "pending" surveys. Some "pending" surveys were never recorded but you will at least know who the surveyor is. (In some cases, the surveyor of the "pending" map may have deceased. If the wife burned his records - all that might exist is the check print submitted to the County for checking.)I have seen the maps reference on the Assessor's map, but the map was not updated since 2001!
The subscription includes Certificates of Corrections.
If you're working in Marin you should subscribe to the Record Maps index. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tbqKLI ... 5D5wY/view
