CDNC - historical research

Post by hellsangle »

For those of us that research historical information from old newspapers such as research for biographies of surveyors, (see below link of LS 2135), please consider a donation to UC Riverside

Dear CDNC Users,

A couple of weeks ago I emailed that the funding for the CDNC in the state budget for fiscal year 2026 had been cut and promised to follow up with more details. I’m sorry to take so long. It’s been a hectic and confusing couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, the news is worse than I expected. As several of you pointed out in emails to me, the CDNC funding line in the budget for next fiscal year has in fact NOT been removed. It turns out that our funding for the CURRENT fiscal year has been withheld. We are over $300,000 in deficit with only three months left in the fiscal year. Our friends at J. have written a nice summary of our plight: https://jweekly.com/2025/04/23/our-digi ... dget-cuts/

If I don’t raise at least $300,000 by June 30, the end of the fiscal year, we will almost certainly have to cease operations.

I’m writing to ask you to help us save the CDNC. We have created a page to collect donations: https://www.givecampus.com/campaigns/61710/donations/

Please give if you can. The future of the CDNC depends on it.

Thank you for your support,
