Terrain Navigator Pro Quad Maps and Ortho Images

Post by Robert Martin »

I'm still using Terrain Navigator Pro to get the QUAD maps and/or the USGS Ortho images in my drawings. I'm happy enough with it, but it seems to be running slower and slower, in addition they are jumping the prices a bunch.

Are there any other options out there? Thank you all for your input!

I've been downloading mine from USGS for a while now. They are free and there are many different options. Also I think they are georeferenced. I still use the older maps in drawings as they play better than the layered pdfs (no layer controls for the pdf once they are in the drawing)

Acme mapper is a good resource for browsing quad maps (though it is sometimes hard to know which panel you are on). I uninstalled Terrain Navigator a few years ago I believe it is obsolete.

I use the avenza maps app for iPhone surveying and following the blue dot to the section corner in the woods. I know there are several other options
