1968 Parcel Map based on record data
can a corner record be filed ? or will this automatically need a Record of survey ?

As always - it depends.
You can certainly file a corner record based on the compiled-from-record-data PM - provided there is no material discrepancy. The record dimensions in this case would be the underlying map(s) used for the PM. If you are retracing one of the parcels, the reestablishment of interior corners is dependent upon the measured values between found exterior monuments.
It's gonna be a judgment call.

I believe the standard CLSA contract has language to protect you if field conditions trigger the filing of a ROS on a project you thought a CR would work.
