Tentative Map Information

Post by subman »

Looking for some feedback. In LA County, we have an on-line application to issue new Tentative Map numbers for tracts and parcel maps. I am in the process of developing a GIS based web page to graphically make this information available to the public. It allows one to see where development is being planned at the macro level (county-wide) and at the community/parcel level as you zoom in. Initially, the icons are clustered regionally and as you zoom in they spread into individual icons that when clicked, display data boxes with certain information. Our Planning department has a GIS layer with pdf files of the actual filed tentative map once an application is filed. We are looking to tie that layer and data into this application.

What information would you be interested in seeing available in such an application. I am interested in the surveying communities input. Thanks in advance!

Also, for those of you that are not aware, Corner Records and Records of Survey in Los Angeles County can now be submitted electronically and are being checked in a digital workflow with Bluebeam markup software and/or approved-returned electronically. The following is the web portal:

I registered for an account, but, even with proper ino, the log in page bogs and claims the email or password is invalid. I can't get in to give it a try.

Ian

Are you allowing your browser to auto populate your email address? If so, try typing it in all manually. I just tried and was able to log in

I have been through the electronic submittal process for a couple of RS's and they are requesting some items on the maps to be shown differently. The main difference was the way the record references are shown (R1, R2, R3, etc.). It is much better than making the prints and mailing or delivering them to Alhambra every time. It went very smooth uploading the files in their different places.

Thx for the positive feedback. The submital workflow automates placement of documents into an organized file structure on the backend. This allows the map checker to go right to a specific map reference instead of hunting through a pdf file with 15 pages of miscellaneous files looking for the correct corner record, ROS, tract, etc.
