I hope we have someone following this state legislation and that we have provisions inserted into the legislation that exempt drone flights for surveying purposes , over private property, from being a trespass.

I think section (C) of SB142 covers it?

350 feet AGL is generally a sweet-spot for mapping.

Forgive my ignorance, but why wouldn't 8774 cover this?

"The right of entry upon or to real property to investigate and utilize boundary evidence, and to perform surveys, ... "

Nothing in the code specifies on how data or evidence will be collected.

What is the difference between a remote controlled helicopter and a "drone"? Besides the name they both do the same things except that a drone appears to have better geo-referencing and computing capabilities.

If a client hires you to do an aerial survey, you can't use a drone? I can tape a camera to the remote controlled helicopter and then create models using software. That would be legal. Is that the current situation? The waters seem muddled to me. There is no trespass involved in this scenario.
