New Forum Software

Post by TTaylor »

I recommend that CLSA get better forum software.

I am not aware at this point of all of the logistics etc. that Central Office deals with in maintaining this forum software and the logistics of changing over to something else while maintaining the historical legacy of posts from this forum software.

The reasons that I recommend getting different forum software?

This software is glitchy and seems to me to be regularly down.

Secondly, (and lastly) I would like to be able to give a thumbs up on a post. You know, similar to a "like" on FB. This would give some good info from the "silent lurkers" that are our fellow professionals. (Steve Martin proposed this previously).

Just a thought.

Thumbs up!

I give a thumbs up to the thumbs up idea. Another to the fellow who wrote the post about the "unheralded aspects" of working for his company. I'm still chuckling over that one and it's been a month!

I already forgot about that one. Are you referring to the post I made teasing Jim about his phrase?
I gotta use this when I am hiring. "Pay may seem low, but remember: there are unheralded aspects to working for me. You think they may herald like other places, but not with me my friend. These are unheralded, and therefore, well worth it" at which point I tighten my glare and nod slowly.
Sometimes I catch my employee thinking we are merely heralding our aspects, and I quickly correct him. We only unherald our aspects at this great company of mine, I say sternly, while waving my finger in reproach.

Squid,

Thanks. I would have pushed the "like" button if we had one.

Sorry for the delay in responding but the forum was down for a long time today.

On another none related issue.
Just because he will now be in the HOF.
