Describing an easement with more than one purpose

Post by sako »

In writing a description for an easement, can I mention that it has more than one purpose, like PIEE, PSDE, PSSE, PUE? or should I write one description for each purpose?

I don't usually put a purpose in the description. I leave that for the front of the deed.

XXX hereby grants to YYY an easement for ZZZ, AAA and BBB purposes over the land described in Exhibit "A" (see attachment).

But to specifically answer your question, I don't see why not.

I have written more than a few for Access And Utilities. But like Ryan posted, it is usually designated in the deed.

IIRC, Wattles specifically mentions it's not our job to call out the purpose of an easement?
