DEM Files

Post by Gromatici »

Has anyone been working with the USGS DEM file lately? I used to know how to download them for a certain area and then import them into CAD but it's been several years since I've had to do that. I found the USGS new website and can quiery the right area but I don't recongnize the data formats except for the tiff files for an ortho photo. Are people starting to use ArcGIS to process this data now and they don't have the "legacy" data files anymore (points with elevations on a 10m spread)?

Let me know,

Thanks,

Autodesk Civil 3D has a direct import for the .DEM formatted files.
