Old HP plotter maintenance
I have an old HP Design Jet 220 Inkjet. I'm getting some cartridge alignment errors with the alignment procedure. I put two brand new cartridges in there, so I don't think the cartridges are causing the problem. The machine could probably use some cleaning and maintenance. The arm that controls the cartridge movement seems to be grinding/rubbing against the bar too much. Also, the bottom of the electronic red light sensor may need to be wiped off, but the space is too small to get anything in there. I don't know of anyone in the area who works on these things. Are there some things I can do myself? Is there a certain kind of lubricant I can put on the bar? What about using canned air to clean the inside? Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
