Trimble 5600 Batteries

I don't know anything about Trimble batteries so this may not apply, but have you tried a Batteries Plus store? They replaced my Nikon batteries for less than 20% what I used to pay. Quick turnaround, too. I started a thread on it a while back:

I've abandoned the triple battery pack and gone with a GPS BASE battery with aligator clip leads.

I also use a jump-starter battery I got from an auto parts store for 50 bucks. I save the "brick" batteries for back-up and powering LR RMT when the AA cells in the unit don't cut it.

I'm sure most Trimble dealers would be willing to get their hands on some if they don't have any in stock.

'jump starter' battery for $50? I've been lugging around a 40+ pound Optima $250 beast up and down the hills. I guess your smaller battery lasts all day? But then again I try to avoid the 5600 and go for the S6. It's rough work when the A-team gets the B equipment (even by choice).
It snowed here last night, get ready for winter surveying.
