Cal Surveyor -- The Education Issue

Thanks to all who contributed!

I went straight to Amazon and picked up "Thoreau the Land Surveyor". I think perhaps I might discover in this book that Thoreau represents (emphasis modern day) the quintessential land surveyor, as did another of our forefathers Meriweather Lewis. These were men whose curiosity and wonder drove their excellence.

Ian, Tony, Grandpa Johnson, Jerry, you gentlemen will agree that that the educated surveyor does not necessarily possess a background limited purely to land surveying. How boring.

As for the educators..... Hey, when you're the hammer everything looks like a nail.
