UPRR Flagman Cost

Anyone know the cost of hiring a UPRR flagman to accompany a crew while in the ROW?

Jim,
I have had pretty good luck dealing with UPRR, (lately), using the attached document to gain access for 'nonintrusive survey work'. Not sure of the extent of your work but the way this form reads, you have access "to enter and be on or about the tracks". Still need to contact the regional railroad superintendent to coordinate with.

I had a remarkably easy time getting the permit, but scheduling the flagman is a different story. The supervisor seemed uninterested in assisting, but asked me to email details of when and where we'd be working. He then ignored the email, and when I called him again he said he'd have someone available in a couple of weeks. I requested a couple of dates in his time window; we'll see if anyone shows up.

Yup, sounds like their SOP. Most of the communication I've had with a scheduled flagman (EIC, ha) has been waking them up at the end of the day to let them know I was done, good luck-be safe.

We had to contact a RR to locate 2 utility boxes about 15 ft from the tracks.
RR said they would be there, never showed and I did the survey without them.
