We currently have an outstanding opportunity available for a qualified individual to perform instrument work in a survey party, and perform related work as required. Selected candidate will operate a transit and level in conducting a variety of surveys including property, topographic, cadastral, construction, and level; set up, adjust, and operate instruments to establish control points, lines, angles, elevations, grades, and contours; make field sketches, notes and records; set survey monuments and bench marks; locate underground facilities using electronic and survey techniques; perform drafting functions when assigned to office duties; and drive on City business. Two years of completed engineering course work at an accredited college, one year of engineering survey work as a member of a field party, and a Class “C†driver’s license are required. (NOTE: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year- for-year basis for a maximum of two years.) Additional course work in surveying or certification by the State of California as a Land Surveyor in Training is desirable.
We offer a starting salary of $6,204 to $7,748 per month plus superb benefits including City-contributed retirement plan, cafeteria-style health benefits, and tuition reimbursement.
