I second that ^^. Quite relevant now given the condition of the economy.

I have taken the liberty of communicating with the attorney and law firm that prosecuted this case. They have responded in kind and I should have the decision and other pertinent material in a day or two.

This sounds like a great case. It is consistent with my understanding of copyright law. A topo cannot be copyrighted but a design can. As a general rule a map cannot be copyrighted as it is a depiction of an existing condition. There was a significant case that came out of New Jersey as I recall. I will try and track it down.

Thanks for sharing this one with the forum.

I have been communicating with the attorney in this matter. If there is any interest, he might be a good speaker. He seems like a very talented individual. He told me the case took about 2 years to develop.

Attached are the pertinent documents. This was a jury verdict and look who the judgment was against.

Very interesting and good law.

Greg, this guy is cool. I am going to see if he wants to put a seminar on with me. I like him and the way he thinks.
