Help in Glenn County

I had one of our GPS antenna come up MIA after the last deployment in Glenn County. Was hoping that if someone was possibly in the area, they could do me a big favor and swing by to see if it's still lying there, hopefully.

What I do know is that it was on station DH3674 "P30W" up till 12:40pm on March 1, 2010, after that it's a mystery. My crew was sure they packed it up but....The station is off I-5 at the Rd 33 exit, about half way between Willows and Orland, see attachment. It's a Trimble Compact L1/L2 antenna with groundplane attached and should be in it's yellow carrying case.

My guess is that by now it's gone but was just reaching out.

Twice in my career I have seen backsights that were accidentally left for days set up along roadways. Both times the the equipment was recovered unharmed.

It's probably worth a drive back up there. You could be pleasantly surprised.

I set P30W in 2003. It isn't on a major road, but it's not exactly untraveled, either -- the station is opposite the driveway into a large dairy operation. If your crew left the antenna down near the fence, I suppose it might not be visible from the road and still there.

My notes show that the station is opposite the entry to 6916 Road 30. A quick web search shows that the parcel is owned by Martin & Katrina Poldervaart, and a search on that name shows a Marty Poldervaart at that address with a cell number of 530.519.0965. Might be worth a phone call to see if he can help out.

Thanks for the help, the antenna was found. It was taken as a back-up by one of my chiefs who didn't realize it was part of another kit being used. I guess I was a little quick to pull the fire alarm but was thinking it was just a matter of time till somebody stopped to see what the big yellow pizza-shaped object was on the side of the road.
