AB 333 - New Tentative Map Extension Bill

Curious to see what the oldest original approval date is for a tentative map that the private surveyors or County Surveyors are currently processing final/parcel maps on. A little background:

Currently, a tentative map that was approved in August of 1993 and recorded as phased final maps could be potentially extended for a period of 20 years as follows:

If the approved vesting tentative map was involved in litigation (SMA 66452.6(c)) and/or qualified for a moratorium (SMA 66452.6(b)1); the above extension could last up to an additional 5 years for litigation and 5 additional years for a moratorium. With all of the existing extensions that the Subdivision Map Act authorizes, the map above approved in August 1993 could be potentially entitled until August 2023.

AB 333, recently introduced, proposes that the expiration date of any tentative or vesting tentative subdivision map or parcel map for which a tentative or vesting tentative map, as the case may be, which has been approved that has not expired on the date that the act that added Section 66452.21 (SB 1185, 7/15/2008) became effective and that will expire before January 1, 2016, shall be extended by 72 months.

This could permit a tentative map to be potentially extended up to 34 years beyond its initial approval.

I have a 242 lot Tentative Map that was originally approved in May 1986.

p.s. BureauCat, you may be looking at AB 333 from the 2007/2008 legislative session. The previous bill with this number was education related, however this is part of the 2009/2010 legislative session.

I'd have to go back to my Durkee notes, but I recall a "cap" on the life of a T/M significantly shorter than the calculated 34 years given above.
