I have some old gear, some actually operable, some not.
For instance, I still have some Ashtech ZXtreme GPS (only) receivers that work just fine, albeit with the usual obstacles that outdated equipment present - I used them just fine in the GPS on Benchmarks program, with a little tweaking of the RINEX file.
Also, I have some Leica robotic TCRA and TCRP instruments that USED to work perfectly well, but the EDM boards took a dump - the boards are no longer available for repair.
Queries about gifting to repair shops (for parting out), to museums (for display) and other resources have been unsuccessful, and I understand why.
But I cannot put these receivers in a dumpster (or E-waste bin) for admittedly unjustifiable emotional (read: used to cost $20K) reasons.
Do you have any suggestions about resources or places that might accept these items for any productive use of parts?
I may turn to eBay as a possible resource.

The old GPS-only receivers have depreciated to the extent that they're barely worth the cost and hassle of shipping, assuming you can find someone who wants one. I still use some of my Trimble 4000SSi receivers on occasion when I need a couple of static points, leaving them unattended for the day. When I return to pick them up I worry that they might have gotten stolen, because I'd hate to lose the tripods.

I did a quick check of eBay, and see that a Z-Extreme with antenna, charger and cables sold in October for $150. That's $135 or so to the seller after eBay's cut, and then you have to pack it up and take it to the shipper.

You might consider your local Facebook giveaway groups, I've found those pretty useful for offloading unwanted items. Craigslist is another possibility. The advantage of the online free approach is you don't have to deal with shipping, once you have an interested party lined up you just leave the item out on your porch or driveway and they come pick it up.
