Mark Thomas is looking for a Senior Project Survey to join the team in Irvine! This is a great opportunity to grow and manage high profile transportation and utility projects across California for Public Agencies and Municipalities. A Sr. Project Surveyor is a licensed surveyor that provides technical supervision over subordinate staff and manages multiple medium to large size projects. The Sr. Project Surveyor provides project management for such projects and uses considerable independent judgement based on a significant degree of survey experience. The Sr. Project Surveyor is expected to develop business relationships with current and potential clients and may take on delegated responsibilities for supervising staff including but not limited to review & approval of time sheets and expense reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides field crews with the necessary information and are scheduled to maximize efficiency and accuracy
Completes projects on time, within budget and within quality parameters specified by Survey Manager or Supervisor, meeting client expectations
Performs boundary resolution and field inspections
Prepares estimates, proposals, and participates in interviews
Responsible charge for ALTA surveys, corner records, topographic exhibits and property descriptions
Complies with Mark Thomas Quality Control Guidelines
Performs quality checks on work performed by subordinates on a regular basis
Ensures that field equipment is available and well supported
Increases knowledge and proficiency in project management and business development skills
Defines survey work scopes
Writes survey project specifications
Updates project status to supervisor in a clear and timely manner
Communicates project instruction clearly to both field and office staff

QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Survey or Civil Engineering or AA with a survey emphasis
6-10+ years of relevant experience
Licensed surveyor in the State of California required
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, CADD, and other relevant software
Ability to multi-task and set priorities effectively
Demonstrated effective project management skills through prior experience
Demonstrated competent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment
Ability to interact with project engineers and clients to deliver quality projects in a timely manner
Strong interest in mentoring staff and developing staff
