Did anyone see the Doonesbury cartoon today?

Yes, and I wondered what the heck kind of instrument is that?
And why is it set up so low? It appears the fence rail would block any line of sight.
We'll soon see more.

Looks like an old geodimeter. I looked closely at the panel and it is dated 1994. it must have tun before!

Wikipedia says Doonsbury is using old strips during the week, but New strips are published on Sunday.
it appears that Washington Post is the "official host" for the online versions.
I used to read the entire newspaper as I sat at the kitchen table and drink my first pot of coffee before going to the office.
When printed news died and I moved on to the e-versions Doonsbury was taking a break. I was not aware that it had resumed, I miss it!

Looks like he has one of those hoity toity, pocketless safety vests with the hi-vis blue-gray color. I hear they are pretty cheap.
