Fee for Certificate of Corrections

To avoid another hi-jack, a new post:

Can a jurisdiction charge a Fee for Certificate of Corrections?

I see in §66470 that the recorder can charge its normal recording fee plus an additional fee (to go to the County Surveyor for filing) not to exceed the normal recording fee for the document.

I do not see anything else about a fee for Certificate of Corrections, not yay, nor nay.

§66470:...The county recorder may charge a fee, in addition to the fee charged for recording the certificate of correction, which shall be transmitted to the county surveyor or the county engineer, as compensation for the cost of maintaining an index of recorded certificates of correction. The amount of this additional fee shall not exceed the fee which is charged for recording the certificate of correction...

How about I make this a question to all jurisdictional Surveyors out there:

Does your jurisdiction require a fee for Certificate of Corrections, other than twice what it would be to record a document with the same number of pages?

No fee for us.

The irony is that it would cost more in overhead to process that amount. It only makes sense on a volume basis - like the Recorder.

Wow, I wonder for any and all?

I found out that the City of Oceanside charges $368 for "Minor Certificate of Correction Review" & $2,295 for "Major Certificate of Correction Review".

I wonder what constitutes a Minor or a Major and who makes the decision?

The agency I worked for charged $75 for a Certificate of Correction because they are usually pretty minor. Amending Maps were more.
