My good friend and granddaughter of Norman Bailiff (formerly with Bailiff and Butz) provided his notes to a museum recently. She was very proud of him for the work he did and in service to the military and public. Having surveyed in and around the Sacramento area, I have seen and used many of his old maps of record. I found much of his surveys to be extraordinarily good for the era, and, as such, have a great degree of respect for him as a surveyor. I have attached a letter to Patsy, which includes the location of his works.

I didn't know he worked for CDF.

I have found his monuments around Fair Oaks. The Sacramento County Surveyor has a couple of boxes of his files.

Thank you for posting this I've been meaning to get to that museum to do some research on Harley Lowden. Now I have two reasons (and an address)
