I came across this on CL--and you don't even have to put on a map or anything. Might be more work in the future too?? What a JOKE

I grew up less than 5 miles from this location and still own property and a home there. Calaveras County has had a huge boom of medical marijuana growing after they decided to issue permits last year. They put the Planning Department in charge of processing the permits, but supplied them no additional resources. When the permit application period opened, they got 995 in a matter of days, of which around 750 were for commercial permits up to 1/2 acre at $5,000 per permit. That was in the spring of 2016. By the time the growing season was over in the fall, they had processed less than 50 of the applications (or some very low number). A friend who lives there was offered $50,000 cash up front to lease 5 of his acres with a well for 1 season, but he declined.
The 2015 Butte Fire devastated tens of thousands of acres, mostly in Calaveras County near Mountain Ranch. Rather than rebuild, many of the owners sold out to large growing operations, or corporations intending to lease the land for growing operations. It completely changed the demographics of the area, not necessarily in a good way, in a very short time.
I know the ad says this is for a mining claim, but I suspect that is just a code word for "pot grow"" because there are several permit applicants on Dogtown Road and the poster mentions the possibility of more jobs. No thanks, not at ten times the offered compensation, which they could easily pay.
