The Dangers of Censorship

In a democratic society, the free exchange of information and ideas should be encouraged. The notion that a subject is unattractive, particularly when problems exist is unfortunate. It does not make the problem go away. To censure is not healthy; it is a sign of weakness. Progress is made when dialogue exists. To be sure, it is a privilege reserved for mature adults.
There are times when ideas are shared and one may not like them. That does not mean they don't exist and don't warrant discussion. If you do not like what is on television, simply change the channel. There are a lot of stations out there.
On the other hand, if one wants to be enlightened, open your ears and eyes. You do not have to agree. You should though listen as you may learn something.
