FUNDAMENTALS OF SURVEYING EXAM PREP
The Irvine Institute of Technology located at 2 Venture – Suite 515, Irvine, CA 92618 will be presenting a 4 day seminar preparing land surveyors to take the Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) examination. This test was formerly known as the Land-Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) examination and is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (NCEES). The classes will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All sessions are recorded live from Irvine and broadcast nationwide. So you have a choice of attending the classes in person or watching them at home live, with the ability to interact with the instructor. Another option is to view the recorded sessions when and where you want as they are available 24/7 by remote log-in from any place in the USA. The live classes are scheduled as follows:

Will the online material be at a discounted rate from the registration fee?

All restrictions are mentioned in the exam guide that will be sent just before the exam starts.

Has anyone on this forum used this resource or know anyone who has?

I have a coworker who has taken the FS exam and struggled with it and is now looking for some organized, structured study program/materials to help him study effectively for the exam. He's at a close to entry-level salary, so $500 is a significant investment for him.

John has a statement of "guaranteed pass" on the linked page. That's an awfully high bar to be promising, but if the track record of those who have attended or bought the recorded version bears it out, then I'd like to be able to recommend the program to my coworker.

I'm helping him to put together a study plan, but it's been 25 years since I took the FS and from all I've heard, the test content has changed quite a bit during that time, so my ability to help him might not cover all the areas currently reflected on the exam.

I am not familiar with this program, but as John Pavlik passed away recently, I would not think the program will be continued.

Of course, I could be wrong.
