I made a new post under Professional Development that has a hyperlink. When I click on the message the blue color of the background is nearly the same color as the hyperlink text and you can hardly see the link. Can either the background color of the posts or the hyperlink text color be changed?

I find mashed test difficult to read as well.

I like how the colors alternate for each post, but the default font is hard to read in the dark blue.

The dark blue needs to be lightened.

I just noticed on my post that the Link text was darkened to almost black. Thanks for making the change.

Can someone offer guidance on how you guys are getting your avatar pics down to under 6 kb in size? I don't have any pictures that small in file size and everything I download is typically in the 20s or 30s. I tried to lower the quality of the image using Irfanview and it was totally unrecognizable and still too large.

I took the pic of my tag with my iPhone 6 Plus, at about 8 inches away. Brought the picture into Paint and cropped it and adjusted the number of pixels and it worked on the first try.

I used a Microsoft product, Picture Manager I think it was, to resized the graphic to the 90 pixel max.

It was a standard Microsoft program that came with Windows 7

it is quick and simple, no cost, nothing to install. it is web based so you don't need windows, apple, linux, bsd, or any other specific operating system.
just select the hz/vert. size, resolution... crop and rotate too if you like.

In Irfanview, try FILE, SAVE AS, select type JPG, then in the options SET FILE SIZE to 6kb. The pic will look fine at the avatar screen size.

6KB file size restriction is very small compared to other sites, and is a probably a default setting similar to what is preventing attachments. Board admin could probably relax the file size restriction, maybe 100KB? This board isn't so busy that it would affect performance.

I tried Peter's suggestion but all I get is a blurry mess and it is still bigger than 6kb although I say to make it 5.99kb.

90x90 doesn't seem to work well either.

I have no idea how people are getting decent avatars. Other forums I have used automatically resize whatever you submit, they don't expect you to be a professional computer photo editor.

I'm thinking I may just use Peter's avatar anyway. I can't do any better than that...

Admin just needs to increase avatar max file size.

For 6 KB try inprot your pic in some kind of "paint" program and save as while defining the parameters.

I've had no problems using Picture Re-size that Peter shared. Just remember that the image size is 90 pixels by 90 pixels and the the size needs to be 98Kb or smaller. I got smeary looking images when I inadvertently typed in 9 x 9 pixels.

I was hoping Dave would use the other image for his avatar... LOL

We have changed the default font to Arial which is cleaner and easier to read. We have also changed the default avatar size from 6kb to 100kb to help with those trying to resize images.
