Roll call please. I am generating a list of cities in California that have a City Land Surveyor position. If you are the City's Land Surveyor or know of a City that has that position I would appreciate it if you posted it on this thread.

You've got your work cut out for you!

There are hundreds of cities in California.

It was tough enough for me to compile a list of 58 County Surveyors!

To be fair, a lot of cities contract with the County Surveyor for map checking, and don't perform surveying activities. This is true for five of the seven cities in San Joaquin County.

And the monument preservation responsibility for public works projects is now under the designated civil engineer pursuant to the recently enacted section 6703.2(c) of the Professional Engineers' Act.

Good luck with your task - it's a worthy goal.

Off the top of my head, these are the ones I know of in the area I'm in:

Riverside
Anaheim
Long Beach (used to, but now contracted out)
Los Angeles
Victorville
San Diego

A ton of cities don't have an official "City Surveyor" position but they have a staff member that is licensed or authorized to practice that performs those tasks (review, signing maps, legals, LLAs, COC's, vacations, etc.).
