That's way too vague, or too general, or both. I think you'd get a better response if you spelled out what you're looking for.

David, not sure what you are looking for, however, I do have 2 power point presentations on the PLSS that I've used for LS Review classes and other purposes. They lay out the fundamentals. Let me know if these will help. Also, clarify what you are looking for and I (and others) will see what we have that will help you.

Here's an interesting pic. Someone really wanted the fence set as close to the corner as possible.

Called out to a ranch to check newly installed posts for a CL fence. Line was ~400ft long and down a ~3 or 4 :1 slope. The old mexican ranch hand that did the work was standing there.
So I sent the rodman down to put a sight on the lower corner and set up on the upper corner, looked down the line of posts and I don't think any post was off even 1/8 of a inch.
I looked at the ranch hand and he just grinned. LOL

Then there is the horse property tract on the central coast where the fence people removed the back corner IPs along the horse trails dug the hole, set the post, poured the concrete and stuck the IPs back in the concrete. LMAO

Maybe we should defund the private sector guys who did that?

You might have a problem due to the ancestry of most fence builders.
