Two different surveyors staked out the wrong lot. This quote cracked me up: "It happens from time to time." Yikes!

I would understand the same surveyor making the same mistake twice but two separate surveyors making the same mistake- humm.
Maybe surveyor #1 gave his paperwork to surveyor #2 or maybe the immune title co screwed up as they did in article Buried Mistake in the latest POB.

The two lots are the same width.
In Florida all of the Deeds are on-line.
Speculating here...Surveyor found two front pins, they were the correct distance apart, didn't check anything else, staked house on wrong lot. OOPS.
Second Surveyor showed up, saw house, quickly found same two front pins, assumed house on correct lot (VERY BAD ASSUMPTION), shot up the house, made map. OOPS #2.
Amazing, can't even get on the correct lot.
