A couple of policy changes regarding records available for download onto a hard drive and the return of copies of filed corner records...
Please see the attached memo from the Riverside County Surveyor...

Well, their microfisch filing system sucked anyway.
Do you think with the stamps they save they might be able to preserve a few bench marks?

Ryan, when researching in the county are there index maps relating the information to the world? Such as the City of Riverside has?
Thanks, Jp

Those indexes are the Hanging files and also the Counter Book pages. They are not up to date as far as I know (I don't work there, I'm private) but the older stuff is indexed on there. On the website search you have to know Section, Township and Range. The hanging file pages and the counterbook pages are available with the hard drive download, I believe, since they are not available on-line.

Not having done anything in Riverside County in years, I need to check their BM records.
From a previous thread I have this web addy
http://www3.tlma.co.riverside.ca.us/pa/rclis/index.html
I got to the intersection, Alessandro and Perris but can't find where survey control is. Specifically BM M-79. Possibly reset on a corner record.
Is there a different web site or am I missing something here.
Thanks.

Ok, got smarter and used the addy in the above pdf.
found corner records and bm but nothing for what I am looking for.
I called the number and the lady who answered forwarded me to engrg and that lady forwarded me to Judy on the 2nd floor who did not answer.
So I emailed the webmaster.
Ok, finally got in contact with Judy and she found a CR for this BM. I still cannot get their web site to bring up that CR.
Which brings up a issue I raised a number of years ago about CRs for cl ties and monuments not being forwarded to the city they are in. See new thread.
