Hemet/San Jacinto/Winchester Vertical Control Issues

To whom it may concern: MWD Dam Deformation and Monitoring Program is working with the USGS to monitor our critical infrastructure in the Casa Loma Fault/San Jacinto Fault zones. We are aware of problems with elevations and datums at that vicinity and in trying to find benchmarks that agree with one another.

Brian Wiseman presented to the RivCo/SB Co Chapter a few years ago, some of the leveling that he was working on to help resolve the problem atleast for MWD and our conveyance system.

I am trying to further justify our work in the area and build a Casa Loma Real Time Network to help give us a better look at what is happening to the geodetic network as a whole. Once we resolve the vertical displacement we can determine what elevations to hold for future level runs.

I am looking for input on problems in regards to elevations not fitting from one bench to the other Hemet/San Jacinto/Winchester. Perhaps local surveyors and other agencies can chime in on this.

This is an on going problem and we hope to resolve it and share the information with surveyors/engineers working in this area.

Please private message me or send me an email if you have specific information or have encountered problems in this area with elevations.

Thanks Much,

Chance Bainum
