The merger between ACSM and NSPS was approved at the NSPS general membership meeting on May 5, 2012 in Charlotte, North Carolina. All assets and liabilities will be assumed under NSPS as the surviving Corporation. This and other important steps were accomplished during the Spring meetings including the passage of a resolution to create a membership structure with drastically reduced dues for State Affiliates with full participation and a commitment to greatly broaden austerity measures toward achieving fiscal stability.

Interesting information Matt, especially given how the CLSA Board of Directors voted on the issue of 100% membership and the proposed fee structure. Should be fun to see how this progresses.

Haven't heard or seen any other comment on this recent action from anyone else or other blogs, so we very much appreciate you keeping all of us up to date.

Question...do you know if the new leadership of NSPS is talking with any of the former GLIS (think this is right) leadership to see how these two groups can co-exist?

Thanks Matt

Ric:
The details of this new membership were not available at the time the CLSA Board of Directors voted. I am looking forward to discussing the pros and cons with them and others.

I understand discussions continue with GLIS and that they are waiting to see how things progress.

That is nearly $100 less than the last time I checked under the old system.

It is $135 less than TSPS(Texas), which is one of the reasons I haven't been a member of TSPS for over 15 years.
