I don't recall seeing that abbreviation on a map before. Perhaps the context will help us.

Something Utility District?

using "AUD" in a sentence as shown on the map?

Are these characters just plotted in the middle of Lot 6 or is it used in a sentence, or what? Is this term shown in a reference or in the signature ommissions or the city clerks certificate or ?

"An Undesirable Defect"

"An Unrecorded Delta"

"An Unrecorded Document"

"Anaheim Utility District"

The guesses go on and on.

Or maybe the draftsman wrote "AUD" instead of "AND".

This Student thanks you very much. Turns out it was the big question of the day. Prof. told us it was "auditor". Thank you so much for your replies.

I've never heard of such a thing. Can you have the Professor give you the context in which it would be used? It seems to me if the Professor stumps the working professionals, then maybe the test is out of touch with what we are dealing with everyday. Usually an abbreviation would not even be used on a map unless there was a legend on the map that defines it.

I agree with Ryan.

I think it's a legal requirement that abbreviations are not used on a legal document without a legend and really are frowned upon, just because of the number of meanings it could have.

And auditor on a record map?

close. Didn't need the "I U M".
