The LS Act isn't all that clear on this. It says you need to set durable monuments, etc. I've seen hubs set with tags in them for property line fence points. I've always set pipes (whether they are on a p/l or at a corner, end of curve, etc.) but I'm rethinking this. The cost of iron is high. Would it be suitable to set pipes or rebars for the corners, end of curves, angle points and then set hubs with tags for points on line??? What do others do here? Thanks

Someone showed me a board ruling on this a while back. I don't have a copy, but I believe the general consensus was that as long as the proper monuentation is in place line points may be set as temporary construction stakes. I do not believe there is any need for tags on your hubs. I may even say if you are setting monuments (tagged) you could argue filing a corner record showing each pipe set on line.

2. tagging line points is idiotic
3..set hub and tack
4. no disrespect or offense intended

The county surveyor won't allow set points on a RS map or CR without your Tag.

of the line being staked has the proper monumentation and mapping, the hubs staked along the line or offset thereto, do not have to be tagged.

That is what I think so you might want to do it another way.
