A Florida surveyor friend of mine had this posted on his Facebook page this morning...

"Today....the Business & Consumer Affairs Subcommittee of the Florida House noticed a proposed committee bill (PCB) proposing to repeal licensing and examination requirements and penalties for specified professions, occupations, and businesses currently regulated by the state.... incredibly, Surveyors and Mappers are on that list... What is driving this? Budget cuts, alone?

Unfortunately the only news I have of this is what was posted in that quote. I do imagine though the budget is the primary driving force of this.

Legislators are always ready to cut anything exc their compensation.

If like CA, 90% of these bills/announcements are scare tactics to get voters to approve tax increases.
