Does anyone have an example on how they handle multiple phased final maps?

What aspect are you speaking of, the entitlements, the drafting, the timing?

Drafting. What did the remaining lands get call?

A remainder or a lot?

It depends on how many phases you would like to do. Some jurisdistion may allow the use of Pacel letters or you may use lot numbers for the large lots that will be subdivided latter. You will need to note on your tentative map that you are planing to phase the sudivision using multiple final maps. You will probably wasnt to consider going the VESTING TENTATIVE MAP route. One could use the term designated remainder, but I think I would use a Lot number to aviod confusion. Designated remainer is a term employed under circumstances that may or may not fit your needs.

Our phased maps are designated as: Tract No. 54000-01, Tract No. 54000-02 etc.

On the first phased map, the balance of the tentative map outside the distinctive border of the phased final map is designated as a "Not A Part". On the second phased map, the recorded map is shown with its recorded map book and page and the remaining portion of the tentative map outside the distinctive border of the second phased map is labeled "Not A Part". On the final phased map, there is no more "Not A Part" area and all the area within the tentative map boundary is either within the distinctive border of the last phased final map or shown as recorded phased map with the corresponding map book/page reference. These details are generally shown on the map sheet that includes the boundary establishment. I will post an example in the morning.

Here is an example. Note the "Not A Part" areas and the limits of the first phased unit map (TR 52455-01) delineated on the attached.
