The offices of Lehmann and Associates Consulting was burglarized sometime between 5:45pm Thursday August 20, and 7:45am Friday August 21 morning.

Please keep your eyes and ears open for a couple of pieces of old equipment:

John Roach Brass transit circa 1860 SN# 601
"A" frame with silver inset horizontal and vertical verniers.
unpolished brass, with a 5" compass.
Unique feature: Leather cushion between leveling screws and the base

K&E Alidade with 90 degree prism eyepiece SN# 170576
a retired U.S.F.S. model, mustard in color
the base support is wrapped in 1/8â€￾ cord
Overall length is about 18"

both of these were taken without their cases.

Other incidentals taken include:
Brass Brunton Compass
10" slide rule with leather case
Brass balance beam measure set in a black case
Small silver drafting set, (German, U.S. Sector) 1940's

I will keep an eye out on eBay. I have been doing a lot of hunting for various survey pieces and browsing some older items as well. Do you have any photos?

If you bought these with the intention of returning them to Frank would you be guilty of receiving stolen goods?

(I'm presuming Frank would reimburse you!)

You might want to notify law enforcement of your intentions before making the purchase. Then they could assist in the purchase and make the bust. Just don't pull an OJ Simpson maneuver.

Police called me this afternoon, they caught the thief and I am due to go in on Tue morning and Id my stuff. I'm hoping all is intact and in good shape. It sounds like he had about 3 car loads of stuff he robbed from a total of about 5 offices. I really thought I would not see my old equipment again.
Quick follow up by the police, and a dumb crook. A good outcome
