Hatanaka conversion program

OK...I have to use Trimble equipment now.

I used to be able to download my static and fast static files into Topcon Tools. Iw ould download the appropriate CGPS station files from the CSRC webiste and save the files in the same directory I saved my daily observation files.

Topcon Tools was completely capable of inmporting the *.z files as well as decompressing them and translating them into the Topcon Tools format files for use. It did so seamlessly.

Unfortunately, Trimble TGO doesn't seem to be able to do the job. I t appears that we have to download the files, uncompress them and manually get them into an ASCII RINEX format before TGO can accept them. Hmmm...not good...

Of course, if we bite the bullet and upgrade to TBO, it SHOULD be able to do all this for us, just like Tools does, now. Hmmm....

So...does anyone have the CRX2RNX program they can fling to me? The CSRC and SOPAC links to the program do not seem to work....

Thanks in advance!!!

Here you go:

(As a TGO user, I have to do the conversions too.)

Thanks, Jim!

Are you moving to the new TBO platform?

I hope we don;t have the same issues with this migration that we had moving to the TGO platform.

"Are you moving to the new TBO platform?"

I have no plans to do so yet. Earlier this year I asked a Trimble tech support rep about it, and he said it's not yet capable of doing industrial-strength GPS data processing, adjustment and reporting. He suggested that I wait until TBO matures before trying to switch.

Hmmm...the CDS rep I met yesterday claimed that it was a much mnore robust platform than TGO...

I can't say that there haven't been upgrades since I spoke with the tech support rep, but the salesman's claim that new software is better may have a tenuous relationship with the truth. Caveat emptor, and please let us know how it goes if you decide to buy a TBO license.

It has been awhile since I was roaming around inside of a TGO session, but I remember that there were various file types that could be dragged and dropped into an open project and the software would work its magic. I believe that Trimble has a message board somewhere and it was terrific because many times asnwer came directly from Trimble about various questions....

BTW Ian best wishes for your career move....

"there were various file types that could be dragged and dropped into an open [TGO] project and the software would work its magic"

Unfortunately, compressed RINEX isn't one of them.

Thanks Jim, I stand corrected on that point.

7zip is a free program which will unzip *.z and *.gz files.

I think I got crx2rnx from CSRC but that's completely from memory. A google search should turn it up.
