I recently picked up this instrument. I am looking to see if I can get it up and running. The insturment powers on, I am not at all familiar with the on board software, so I am looking into data collection solutions, batteries, chargers, manuals and the like. Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks Rob, you are right they have experience with geodimeter, but they are going to want to sell me an S6 and not fuss with odds and ends part for an 18 year gun.
I would not mind buying an S6 but O am going to have to save alittle.

CSDS has a very good repair department. Their job is to repair and maintain survey equipment, not sell it.

Okay, give me a little credit here. The first thing I did was call CSDS. That is why, I am posting here asking more questions. Now admittedly, I did not call the Sacramento branch, I only called the Livermore branch and perhaps parts and supplies are different in each branch. Very few companys support their hardware and software forever(how about none) and truthfully with an 18 year old instrument, I am expecting it to be a bit of challenge.

Try the Sacramento branch. That's the one I was thinking of and why I gathered from your previous response that you had not tried them.

They work on old instruments of many different makes.

I will give the Sac office a try as well, but their Livermore office said, they could not do it that they would have to send it back to Missouri or some such thing.

I think that model was the one the ARMY issued, If so I might still have the manuals for it. I would have to look in my garage, but let me know if your interested.

Yes it is a model made for the Army. On the start screen it flashes

I'll look for it this weekend and I'll let you know on Monday, Army stuff is in the garage in some box packed away, If I remember right I should have all the operating manuals and the software for it.

No luck as of yet, I have one more place to look.
