argumentum ad hominem aside; an article to the point: http://www.pobonline.com/articles/98237 ... ing-safety

“With the advancement of technology, in many cases, that crew of four has been reduced to one. You’ve got a person who’s using robotics to actually do the survey, so you significantly reduce the opportunity for some of the younger folks to gain field experience and just practical experience; also to give them the opportunity to find out what the field is about.” Article

If you can't access the link, obviously someone doesn't want you to be able to.

Can we all agree this mandate is not for safety.

The u-tube CLSA audio was a good show, it is clear this
mandate is driven by the union for financial gain otherwise min wage observers
could be used for safety.

I heard over and over that some surveyors are pressured by clients to limit crew.
Dont work in the big city but still I have never been pressured by clients about
the number of crew I use, if fact clients appreciated that we are fully staffed and
get the job done on time.

This is a hot subject and would like to see the Member Numbers on where we stand with location and public or private info.

"Don't Mandate Me Bro."

I support all aspects of a minimum two person crew doing a job. For safety reasons, for boredom reasons, for mentoring, etc. I hate going out alone, I have nobody to laugh about but myself.
