The plats do not show an error; they are correct. It is some of the interior 16th corner monument locations in the field that are incorrectly positioned; they conflict with the plat. Some one made a boo-boo in setting them, but the 'math' of the plats are correct.

Our surveys show the relationships. One is recorded (I can provide the ROS info once back in the office), the other is pending BLM's field visits this summer.

I would conclude that, in my 30+ years of surveying, these two cases are extremely rare: BLM surveys are typically top notch, high quality returns. BLM cadastral surveyors take their responsibilities VERY seriously and exercise extreme care in carrying out their work. Sometimes, albeit rarely and for whatever reasons, stuff just happens.
