Many of you have worked with Terry Hayden of Aerial Photomapping Services in Clovis, California for many years. Terry died in an unexpected event last week. This saddens many surveyors who were his colleagues and friends.

I'm leading an effort of the CLSA Central Valley Chapter to set-up a scholarship in Terry's memory. Please contact me at lblake@odellengineering if you would like to make a small donation to the scholarship. (I'm going to personally contribute $1,000 to seed the scholarship.)

I'd also like to teach a couple of workshops around the state. All of the profits will go to Terry's scholarship fund. I'm flexible on the topic and the format. Please let me know if your chapter would like to host one of these workshops. I can come and talk about GIS, geodetic control, the proposal process, risk management, or boundary surveying.

I've put up a crowd-funding page that makes it very easy to donate to the Terry Hayden Memorial Scholarship.

The donation deadline is December 12th. We have a goal of $3,000.

Terry's daughter will make the final selection of a student to benefit from the scholarship. We are hoping to have the first scholarship awarded for the spring semester. I'll post again with instructions on how to apply.
